Cakes

Here are pictures of all the cakes I've made since I started making cakes. More details to come.

Barbie cake for Madyson's birthday (my cousin's step daughter)
Chocolate with homemade marshmallow fondant

Becky's Wedding Cake - more pics here
chocolate & vanilla with homemade marshmallow fondant

Ben's Birthday cake - front & back - (more here)
Chocolate & vanilla swirl

Eli's Cupcake Bouquet - more here
Chocolate mini cupcakes

My niece Allie loves books! This is her birthday cake/book.

A flower cake for Hadley's first birthday.
The inside is pink & purple checkerboard - sort of...
Look for another post about that. =o)

A "pretend" wedding cake.
I made this one for a ward young women's activity.
They were having a "wedding reception".
White chocolate cake, white chocolate buttercream, & raspberry filling
Can't forget the homemade marshmallow fondant. Yum!

This was the cake I made for my final Wilton class.
(Fondant & Gum Paste)
Josh & I were so sick of cake we couldn't even think of eating it.
I looked through the ward directory for someone celebrating a
birthday soon after my class ended. I found someone, called her
husband, & got the scoop on some of her favorites.
I was just glad I didn't have to bring it home!

Wilton Course 3 - final tiered cake
This one had Caramel Rice Krispie treats inside.
Yes, we were tired of cake.

Wilton Course 3 - fondant cake
Pumpkin Apple Spice cake
There may have been cream cheese buttercream involved.

Wilton Course 2 - final
royal icing flowers & color flow birds

Birthday "Watermelon" for my husband's boss.
He's a health nut & always brings fruit for birthday treats.
We decided to turn the tables & bring "fruit" for him too.
White cake colored red with mini chocolate chip "seeds".
Next time might be red velvet cake...

Wilton Course 1 - final
Not bad for my first cake, eh?
I take that back, the purse below was my first cake.

Sidney LOVES purses.
What better for a birthday than a purse cake.

  1. Great job! My favorite is the one with the pink bow.

  2. Very cool. I would like to see this as an enrichment, but I don't know that it would work. Maybe more of a hands on thing. Plus a cost associated.
